    Position Summary

    Within the Treasury group at SJI, you will engage in a broad range of treasury activities including cashflow forecasting, capital and liquidity planning, debt management, investment management, and cash operations.

     

    Treasury team members work closely with the Treasurer, CFO, and other senior leaders across the organization. The group also maintains key external relationships, actively engaging with investors, investment banks, rating agencies, and regulators. From time to time, certain members of the team contribute to strategic initiatives across the company. This role requires a seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of treasury functions and the ability to operate with agility and precision in a dynamic environment.

    Essential Duties:

    Debt and Capital Structure Management

     

    + Support strategies to optimize capital structure and cost of capital

    + Assist in managing the debt portfolio, including issuance, refinancing, and covenant compliance

    + Co-lead debt and equity financing efforts:

    + Prepare presentations, transaction summaries, and supporting schedules

    + Review legal documents and ensure timely regulatory disclosures

    + Coordinate with internal teams to address inquiries from investors/lenders

    + Spearhead the design and preparation of presentations to the board of directors and rating agencies

    + Develop financial models and scenarios to support capital structure decisions

    + Maintain relationships with investors, rating agencies, and financial institutions

     

    Reporting and Analytics

     

    + Analyze funding actions and variance drivers

    + Develop reports to monitor capital structure, including debt levels, borrowing facility usage, debt and equity ratios, and rating agency metrics

    + Respond to data requests from key stakeholders

    + Create and maintain dashboards for treasury KPIs

     

    Process Improvement and Technology Utilization

     

    + Identify and implement process improvement opportunities

    + Leverage TMS and ERP platforms to streamline operations

    + Enhance data accuracy through workflow automation

    Additional Responsibilities

    + Participate in cross-functional initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions or enterprise-wide project implementation

    + Stay current on market trends and developments in treasury, banking, and financial markets

    + Provide coverage for Treasury team members as needed

    Required Skills:

    + Deep understanding of financial markets, financial instruments, credit facilities, and treasury best practices

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail

    + Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently with high accuracy

    + Effective communication and stakeholder management across all levels, including executive leadership

    + Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally

    + Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, including extended hours when needed

    + Flexible and responsive to periodic reporting cycles and ad hoc requests

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Self-starter with high energy, motivation, and a desire to contribute innovative ideas

    + Passion for continuous learning in finance and treasury

    Preferred Skills:

    + Working knowledge of project financing structures and related documentation

    + Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Python, R, Power BI)

    + Project management capabilities

    + Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) accreditation

    Qualifications

    Required Background:

    + Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or;

    + Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.

    + Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    Compensation Range:

    $84,000 - 134,400

     

    We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
