The Job You Will Perform:
+ Support the Environmental Compliance program for the Port Wentworth Mill
+ Provide environmental resources and engineering services to the mill in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and regulations, governing the mill operations including permitting in a safe and cost effective manner
+ Demonstrate safety leadership and a high degree of safety focus in all tasks
+ Lead Air compliance program for the mill, including Title V permitting, data collection, QA/QC, and reporting
+ Assist with training and directing operations and maintenance staff to maintain compliance
+ Lead the solid waste/hazardous waste compliance program
+ Support other regulatory, IP, and/or mill programs including SPCC, SWPPP, sustainability initiatives, chemical reporting. wastewater, and ISO 14001
+ Support permitting processes for capital/expansion/modification initiatives
+ Interact with and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies as appropriate including Georgia EPD and Region 4 EPA
+ Interact with corporate leaders and subject matter experts
+ Participate in internal audits and assessments
+ Manage contractors as an IP Contract Coordinator including use of Safe Work Plans, PJSA, and periodic performance audits
+ Serve on community and environmental committees as required
+ Investigate and identify root causes for environmental incidents including near misses
+ Serve on environmental weekend rotation
The Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge You Will Bring:
+ 2+ years’ experience in environmental compliance, preferably in the Pulp & Paper industry in the state of Georgia
+ Minimum of a B.S. in a science, environmental science/management, or engineering discipline
+ Knowledge of emerging environmental regulations
