Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing Engineering is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Project Engineering to join the Operations Leadership Team** . The **Manufacturing Project Engineering Manager** will be responsible for the manufacturing execution of development and production programs in the Baltimore Commodities manufacturing cells. Those cells include the **Advanced Microelectronics Cell (AMEC), the Automated Feed Factory (AFF), the Advanced Ceramics Fabrication Cell (ACF), and the Advanced Interconnects and Multilayer Solutions cell (AIMS).
The position requires leadership of a technical team of approximately 17 total engineers that are responsible for:
+ Acting as the main point of contact for all manufacturing engineering related activities for their product within the cell
+ Monitoring product performance, quality, delivery, and cost metrics; highlighting detractors and gathering resources to resolve them
+ Collaborating closely with their process engineering peers as well as other functional groups supporting shop floor, program office, and customer (quality engineering, manufacturing supervision, production, operations, design engineering, program management)
+ Driving root cause corrective action efforts
+ Identifying continuous improvement opportunities; creating solutions and lobbying for funding
+ Reviewing and handling product on the shop floor
+ Leading communications outward from the shop floor, through yield meetings, situations reports, problem resolution charts, etc.
+ Documenting and managing non-recurring activities for initial product startup as well as supporting manufacturing readiness reviews
+ Collaborating with hardware engineering to develop producible designs and product development schedules that support program needs
+ Providing manufacturing expertise to NGC suppliers as needed in support of program requirements
Additional responsibilities and attributes of the Manufacturing Project Engineering Manager include, but are not limited to:
+ Providing staffing support, mentoring, employee engagement facilitation, career development, and performance assessments for the 17 engineers across the Commodities cells.
+ Managing the financial performance of the Manufacturing Project Engineering cost center (budget, utilization, program allocations).
+ Ensuring team resources and skills are in place to meet both technical and financial objectives
**The Manager of Manufacturing Project Engineering** must perform in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high visibility operation; work well in a team environment; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must have a passion for people, innovation, and excellence, along with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple disciplines to solve complex issues.
Basic Qualifications for the Manager of Manufacturing Project Engineering:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 8 years or more of relevant professional experience (6 years or more years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree)
+ Experience with manufacturing engineering and new product development
+ Experience with project management and communication including associated tools and methods
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret level security clearance is required.
+ US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications for the Manager of Manufacturing Project Engineering:
+ Experience with microelectronics manufacturing processes and product development
+ Experience with environmental coatings manufacturing processes and product development
+ Experience in a leadership position managing people and projects
+ Six Sigma Black belt/Green belt certification from an accredited program

MANUMS
Primary Level Salary Range: $149,400.00 - $224,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
