Job Summary and Description:
Provides technical assistance and advice to Engineers, Project Managers and Program Managers. Normally follows established procedures on routine work. Performs engineering or scientific services that may include but are not limited to the following (in compliance with current industry and Government practices):
Power and Power Quality Monitoring
+ Install, maintain, and troubleshoot power and power-quality measurement systems for EPRI and its customers
+ Collect, store, and maintain power quality data and databases
+ Test power and power-quality measurement systems to given protocols and testing standards
Power Quality Testing
+ Perform various PQ tests in the laboratory and at customer sites to help evaluate equipment performance
+ Learn methodologies and conduct testing SEMI, IEEE, and IEC standards
Industrial Assessments
+ Assist in performing Power Quality and Energy Efficiency assessments in industrial facilities throughout the U.S
+ Assist in documenting findings and reporting efforts related to this work
Power Quality Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting
+ Collect data, perform basic calculations, and report data to engineering staff
+ Travel to customer sites for field testing and data collection
+ Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot standard electronics testing equipment, meters, scopes, spectrum analyzers, data recorders, etc, and corresponding software
Electrical / Electronics Troubleshooting
+ Possess a strong background in electronics or related technology and understand electrical calculations and scientific principles to apply towards troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems
+ Understand technical drawings, and specifications of electrical systems
Electrical and Mechanical Design & Fabrication
+ Participate in the manufacturing, construction, electrical wiring, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing of custom made electronic equipment
+ Use Multisim or other Circuit Design and Analysis software to test circuit designs
+ Use Computer Aided Drafting software to illustrate mechanical designs and electrical schematics
+ Use fabrication tools to construct test fixtures, and prototype devices
Computer Operation & Maintenance
+ Possess a working knowledge of computers and be able to install programs, configure software, troubleshoot computer operational problems and be familiar with computer applications such as Microsoft Office tools, etc.
+ Basic understanding of computer networking and associated hardware, windows servers, and database management
Other Various Task
+ Produce procurement documents and purchase electronic equipment and parts.
+ Laboratory and facilities maintenance
Education:
+ Certification and/or Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ 1-3 year of experience as a technician in at least one of the primary engineering or scientific disciplines.
+ Must be able to set up, assemble, install or build components of experimental apparatus or equipment.
+ Normally follows established procedures on routine work. Requires instructions only on new assignments.
The salary range for this position is $55,000 USD to $62,000 USD annually.
This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
