Required Education/Experience
+ High School Diploma/GED 5 years related work experience 5 years of experience in operations, maintenance or construction of power generation, transmission or distribution equipment or equivalent education/experience is required. or
+ Associate's Degree 4 years related work experience 4 years of experience in operations, maintenance or construction of power generation, transmission or distribution equipment or equivalent education/experience is required. or
+ Bachelor's Degree 2 years related work experience 2 years of experience in operations, maintenance or construction of power generation, transmission or distribution equipment or equivalent education/experience is required.
Relevant Work Experience
+ Work experience in the operation, maintenance, or construction of power generation, transmission, and distribution equipment is required.
+ Technical experience or working knowledge in the operation, maintenance, construction, inspection, and repair of the electrical transmission and distribution system to include: substation operations, switchgear installation, grounding practices, circuit breaker mechanics, and electrical distribution transformers is required.
+ Must be computer literate and be able to apply practical applications in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and work management systems such as Maximo, Engage and OSS, is required.
+ Be detailed oriented, able to work under pressure and handle multiple concurrent assignments, required.
+ Exercise independent judgement and able to render sound business decisions, required.
+ Strong oral and written communications skills, good presentation skills and ability to effectively interact with both internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management and union is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
+ Driver's License Required
+ Other: Respirator Fit Test 1 Year Required
Physical Demands
+ Ability to respond to system emergencies
+ Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
+ Perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions
+ Ability to carry tools and materials when climbing ladders and scaffolds, and entering confined spaces
+ Work in, under, and on top of all types of company vehicles and/or equipment
+ Ability to climb ladders and stairs
+ Ability to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, and/or other equipment
+ Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
+ Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
+ Ability to climb in and out of manholes and excavations
+ Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
+ Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
+ Ability to use hand tools and operate heavy machinery, i.e. jackhammers
+ Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
+ Use hand-eye coordination to adjust controls on equipment
+ Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
+ Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays
+ Use personal vehicle(s), and be able to transport, store, and secure company laptops and other job-related equipment in vehicle. Acknowledge that reimbursement for use of personal vehicle is available through the company mileage procedure
Additional Physical Demands
+ The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Must be approved to wear SCBA and/or respirator
