2026 Internship\- Interiors Engineering \(Industrial Design\)

JOB SUMMARY:

This is an opportunity to be immersed in the culture of a leading general aviation manufacturer, home to two iconic brands: Cessna and Beechcraft\. In this role, you’ll collaborate with and learn from our experienced Industrial Design staff\. The open office layout encourages cross\-disciplinary teamwork with design, mechanical, and electrical experts driving new product development\. From small single\-engine aircraft to super\-midsized jets, the design projects span a wide range\. Your primary focus will be interior development, where you’ll integrate technology and human factors to enhance the cabin experience\.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* At a minimum, fully understand and follow the project design brief and produce requested deliverables on time\.

* Based on project scope, preform thorough research, ideation, concept generation, and design refinement\.

* Support Human Factor mockups to inform design development\.

* Ask questions, challenge the status quo, and bring a high level of enthusiasm and creativity\.

* Be collaborative\. Work through solutions with Engineering, Interior Design, and other technical groups and interns\.

* Build engaging presentations that communicate your design journey and final solutions\.

* There is much to learn in this 10\-week experience \- take advantage of as many intern events as possible and participate in facility tours at both east and west campuses\.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

* Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Product Design or other relative design discipline\.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Excellent visual communication skills

* Experience with Adobe Suite products, CAD modeling and rendering software

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late\-May to early\-August lasting 10 weeks\.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager\.
