    Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities Responsible for the operations and programming of the Semper Fit Sports Center, skate park, hockey rink and sports fields/courts. AS4000 consists of cardiovascular machines, sectorized exercise machines, free weights and plate loaded benches and machines, sauna, and locker rooms, racquetball courts and basketball court. Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget. Ensures facilities are safe, well maintained, and prepared for activities or events. Ensures proper internal controls are maintained to protect property, equipment, supplies, income, records, etc. Briefs superiors, inspection officials, and other staff. Performs inspections and provides overall management of facility operations. Ensures procedural guidelines are in effect. Establishes and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Desk Top Procedures ensuring consistent operations. Inspects facilities daily ensuring safe and efficient operations. Incumbent will serve as the MCCS Safety Representative, Deputy Fire Warden, and Hazardous Material Site Manager. Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews, signing timesheets, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Advise employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials, and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents/injury to the Human Resources Office. Ensures that safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with "Return to Work" program initiatives and following up on employee well-being. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications A minimum of three years' experience in planning, organizing, and administering in a fitness related field, one year having been at a supervisory level. A degree from an accredited college/university in Fitness or a related field is preferred. Must be certified as a personal fitness trainer by one of the following: Approved National Certification includes one of the five organizations designated by Marine Corps Headquarters; American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research (CIAR), and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFFA). First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and CPR certification is required.
