    Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is seeking a motivated and collaborative Pediatric Cardiologist with subspecialty training in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Interventional Cardiology to join a dynamic and expanding pediatric heart center in Hawai‘i.

     

    Hawaii Pacific Health incorporates 4 major medical centers, including Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women and Children, the only tertiary care pediatric hospital in the State of Hawai‘i, as well as Straub Benioff Medical Center and Pali Momi Medical Center, two leading regional hospitals with strong inpatient and outpatient cardiology services. The pediatric and congenital cardiology group has been one of the main areas of successful development of the medical group. With continual expansion of cardiac services, we opened a pediatric heart center in 2022, opened a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory in 2023, and recently hired a congenital heart surgeon. Since 2023, the cardiac catheterization laboratory has expanded the list of interventional procedures offered at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children, and now includes interventions offered for premature infants and children of all ages. The catheterization laboratory also serves the growing adult congenital patient population with complex heart procedures, such as pulmonary valve replacement.

     

    A Pediatric Cardiologist candidate will have pediatric cardiology training with further subspecialty training in pediatric and adult congenital interventional procedures. Responsibilities include a wide range of outpatient clinical care, evaluation of basic cardiac tests, ECGs, echocardiograms and exercise stress tests, as well as consultation and inpatient care for children with congenital and acquired heart conditions. In addition to the pediatric cardiology services across the network of our hospitals, the ideal candidate would take on an active role in diversifying and expanding our comprehensive pediatric and adult congenital interventional procedures, and leading innovative initiatives in the field of interventional cardiology. Besides clinical responsibilities, participation in research and teaching through the University of Hawai‘i, John A. Burns School of Medicine is highly encouraged.
