Brief Description
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for:
+ Support the CAP Information Services supplier selection and procurement processes by providing timely service, and competitive pricing on IS products and services.
+ Operate with minimal guidance, using independent judgment and decision making.
+ Collaborate with the contracting team to review contracts and identify potential business risks.
+ Support the negotiation and execution of hardware/software renewals, ensuring alignment with IS stakeholders and legal requirements.
+ Provide administrative and analytical support for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
Specific Duties
Primary duties and responsibilities:
+ Participate in multifunctional team meetings as a representative of the Indirect Procurement department.
+ Co-lead weekly IS prioritization meeting with IS Business Operations Manager
+ Seek to understand the needs of key stakeholders and provide input to their agreements.
+ Support Request for Proposal / Information / Quotes (RFx) procurement process.
+ Manage multiple projects simultaneously, have the ability to take initiative, work independently and have strong interpersonal skills.
+ Collaborate on Statements of Work with internal staff including but not limited to contracting, business stakeholders, upper management vendors.
+ Negotiate consulting, hardware, software, software as a service, technology, services, and managed services agreements.
+ Review and analyze SaaS, End User License Agreements, and Subscription Agreement terms and conditions to ensure alignment with project managers requirements.
+ Review and confirm pricing for all license agreements, statements of work, staff augmentation, and general agreements.
+ Maintain a holistic view of a supplier relationship and are able to communicate to stakeholders the impacts their agreements have on the organization.
+ Support current supplier relationships and identify/evaluate potential new suppliers.
+ Take a proactive role in resolving price, delivery, quality or payment related challenges.
+ Manage purchasing aspects of IS leased assets. Work directly with the Infrastructure Management Analysts to procure and maintain all hardware and software assets, including reviewing licensing and renewal agreements.
+ Identify savings opportunities and report in savings tool.
Knowledge/Skills Required/Preferred
Personal:
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and time management skills required.
+ Critical thinking skills, conflict resolution and ability to successfully navigate through ambiguous situations.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
Professional:
+ 3-5 years of combined experience in general business operations and/or Indirect Procurement, preferable of IS/IT goods and services
+ Strong business acumen
+ Ability to recognize and handle confidential information
+ Strong customer service orientation including issue resolution and supplier relationship management skills
Technical:
+ Experience with: IS contacting, IS hardware, software, software as a service, licensing, services, managed services, and PC based software applications, including ERP systems.
Education/Experience
+ Undergraduate degree required (either BA or BS)
+ Experience in technology and license purchasing preferred
+ Contract negotiation required
+ CPSM preferred
Additional Criteria
This position is based out of the Northfield, IL office. Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the Northfield headquarters.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $81,000
