As Clinical Documentation Improvement Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program, including personnel management, education and training, productivity oversight, work assignments, quality reviews and report management. In this role, you will facilitate and promote standardization across the Florida and Ohio Region, ensuring that all documentation accurately and compliantly reflects the clinical care provided to patients, while also serving as a liaison to hospital and medical staff in all matters related to clinical documentation improvement.
A caregiver in this role works remotely from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
_This position is primarily remote, with occasional on-site work required based on your distance from a Cleveland Clinic location._
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Manage CDI department personnel and operations to include personnel management, education, training, workflow analysis, productivity, quality and report management to ensure achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
+ Facilitate appropriate clinical documentation reviews to support accurate assignment of diagnoses and procedure codes, severity of illness, risk of mortality, MCC/CC capture, appropriate POA assignment, PSI, HAC, APC & HCC coding, risk adjustment analysis and provider queries.
+ Perform and/or monitor quality reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and industry best practices.
+ Collaboratively work with coding, quality, care management, physician champions and other key stakeholders to improve clinical documentation.
+ Conduct data and root cause analysis and communicate clinical documentation opportunities and/or concerns to key stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
+ Contribute to CDI strategic planning and process improvement activities.
+ Integrate Cleveland Clinic's Improvement Model (CCIM) and tools into daily operations to drive best practices and outcomes (i.e. huddles, visual management tools, 4-blocker, return to green plan, A3, etc.).
+ Review, revise and/or implement departmental policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
+ Monitor achievement of CDI key performance indicators and initiate and execute action plans as appropriate.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field and three years of supervisory or management experience in a health care setting OR Bachelor's degree and two years of supervisory or management experience in a health care setting
+ Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist/Physician (CCS/P) from American Health Information Management Association OR Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders OR Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist-Outpatient (CCDS-O) from the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) OR Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Knowledge of coding classification assignments (ICD-10-CM/PCS/CPT/APC/OPPS) and reimbursement methodologies (e.g., risk adjustment, value-based payment, MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, POA, HAC, PSI and HCC)
+ Knowledge of differences between Medicare Part A and Part B guidelines and their impact on DRG assignments
+ Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Health or Business Administration, Nursing or related field
+ Health Information Management department experience
+ Strong background in CDI
+ Experience leading a remote team
+ Managing remote workforce experience

Physical Requirements:
+ Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
+ May requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and the ability to travel to various locations throughout the Florida Region.
+ Normal or corrected vision to normal range.
+ Able to clearly communicate by phone or in person.
+ May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $36.80
Maximum hourly: $56.13
