We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented **Material Handler / Regrind Operator** to join our production team. This role is responsible for grinding PVC pipe scrap, accurately weighing and recording material quantities, and ensuring proper material handling procedures are followed. The ideal candidate will have experience in plastic or pipe manufacturing and a strong commitment to safety and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate grinding equipment to reprocess PVC pipe scrap into usable regrind material.
Load, unload, and transport materials (raw, finished, and scrap) to designated locations using appropriate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
Accurately weigh and record material weights, batch numbers, and inventory data for each product run.
Ensure proper labeling and storage of ground materials to maintain product traceability.
Monitor equipment performance and report any mechanical or safety issues to maintenance or supervisors.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards in accordance with plant safety standards.
Assist in inventory counts, audits, and documentation as required.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Previous experience in manufacturing or material handling, especially in plastics or PVC processing, is highly desirable.
Ability to operate grinders, scales, and forklifts safely and efficiently (forklift certification a plus).
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record weights and materials data.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in industrial environments.
Basic math and computer/data entry skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, if required.
Work Environment:
Indoor manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
