    Where You’ll Work

    This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

     

    What You’ll Do The Digital Communications Manager is responsible for executing the association’s social media content calendar and strategy, coordinating with team members on day-to-day activities across platforms. This role focuses on content creation, scheduling, community engagement, and performance monitoring for the association’s brand, marketing, and enterprise activities.

     

    + Create and publish engaging, brand-aligned content across social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) for the association’s enterprise activities.

    + Partner with team members to implement a social media content calendar and ensure timely delivery of posts.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance.

    + Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, respinding to inquiries and engaging with followers in a timely and professional manner.

    + Attend CHA conferences and events to capture content and provide support for association leadership.

    + Design basic graphics and visuals using tools like Canva or Adobe Express.

    + Assist with short-form video editing or coordination for social media use.

    + Track and report on KPIs such as engagement, reach, and follower growth.

    + Keep apprised of social media trends and best practices.

    + Coordinate with advocacy-focused digital communications manager to schedule posts, build campaigns, and drive engagement

    + Advise on paid social media campaigns and strategies.

    + Work closely with marketing, membership, and events teams to support campaigns and initiatives.

    + Support marketing and PR firm-led campaigns and projects as needed.

    + Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.

    + Provide regular updates to the Communications Director to inform content adjustments.

    Required Experience:

    What You’ll Bring to CHA

     

    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.

     

    + Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

    + A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing social media accounts, preferably for a nonprofit or association.

    + PR agency experience preferred but not required.

    + Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.

    + Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite).

    + Experience using Meltwater to monitor social media.

    + Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

    + Experience in basic video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro.

    + Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.

    + Understanding of strategic messaging and strong writing skills for all social platforms.

    + Knowledge of hospitals, health care and or children’s issues.

    + Understanding of social media and online communications. Fluency in a wide variety of social media trends and platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

    + Excellent writing, conceptual, analytical, and organizational skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

    + Ability to travel by car or plane up to 15%

    This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $80,000 Max: $160,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
