Job Title: Pharmacist II
Responsibilities
+ Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
+ Direct pharmacy workers in the mixing, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
+ Provide information to pharmacy customers regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosages, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
+ Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
+ Enter data such as patient names, prescribed medications, and costs to maintain pharmacy files, charge systems, and inventory.
+ Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
+ Instruct interns and other medical personnel on pharmacy-related matters.
Essential Skills
+ Must be licensed in Illinois (IL).
+ Retail pharmacy experience, such as with CVS, Walgreens, or Target.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Ability to multitask and self-motivate.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in prescription verification and order entry.
+ Comfortable working on feet all day and occasionally pushing carts weighing up to 30 lbs.
+ Experience in handling high-volume orders is a plus.
Work Environment
The work schedule consists of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 7:30 pm (8.5 hour shift in this timeframe). Overtime is not required but may be offered based on business needs. Training will be provided with a first shift schedule for a month. Collaboration with other pharmacists and technicians is a key part of the role, and there is potential for training in phone call work down the road.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
