Job Title: Environmental Test Technician (3rd shift)
Job Description
The Electronic Technician plays a critical role in the Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) of spacecraft. This position involves a wide range of tasks requiring mechanical and electrical fabrication, assembly, and test skills. Responsibilities include the manufacturing and testing of ground support equipment, assembly and testing of complex assemblies/subsystems, and supporting spacecraft system integration and tests.
Responsibilities
+ Perform a variety of routine electronic or environmental tests to ensure subassemblies and units meet company and customer specifications.
+ Conduct tests following established test procedures.
+ Troubleshoot to the component level with limited supervision.
+ Record test results and maintain work logs and status reports in accordance with company work instructions.
+ Assist in on-the-job training for less experienced or lower-level technicians.
+ Aid rework personnel in repairing faulty subassemblies or units.
+ Ensure proper use and care of test equipment and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
+ Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve problems.
+ Create and work in a team environment while implementing Continuous Process Improvement.
+ Provide and receive work direction from/to team members.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in TVAC, thermal vacuum, troubleshooting, schematic, oscilloscope, component level troubleshooting, network analyzer, and environmental testing.
+ Proficiency in RF and Electrical Component Testing.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, military specifications, test procedures, and wiring diagrams.
+ Competence in setting up and operating standard and special-purpose electronics test equipment.
+ Five to eight years of experience and training in similar responsibilities.
+ Precision hand-eye coordination.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum high school diploma/GED equivalent.
+ AAS, Military Electronics training or equivalent.
+ Experience with Vibration, temperature chamber, and Thermal Vacuum Testing environmental testing.
+ Ability to work autonomously with good decision-making skills.
+ Familiarity with assembly process areas, including potting, coating, and environmental tests.
+ Flexibility to work non-standard hours and variable shifts.
Work Environment
This position operates within a lab/cleanroom environment. The role may require working 2nd or 3rd shifts to accommodate training and business needs. The team is dedicated to advancing space manufacturing technology, continuously pushing the boundaries of space exploration and industry.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
