Description Responsibilities
Conduct legal research
Update and maintain internal databases
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
Liaise between trial team and internal/external third parties
Communicating with retained experts and preparing relevant materials for expert review
Help with voir dire, jury selection and witness preparation
Subpoena medical, billing, and radiology records, employment records, workers compensation records, and other entities
Prepare comprehensive medical chronologies and Howell analysis
Summarize written discovery and document productions
Conduct background checks, social media investigations, litigation history
Qualifications
3+ years’ recent experience in civil litigation – employment and/or wage and hour class action/PAGA experience required
You MUST be competent and proficient in the use of Word, Outlook, and One Drive
You MUST be able to navigate the web like Magellan
You must be able to handle working with several different databases of information and comfortable organizing data
Think on your feet and make smart decisions
Your ability to listen to what you are being told and ask follow-up questions is very important
Able to talk to people (employees, clients, visitors, salespeople, servers, the public, doctors, and people at the insurance company) in a manner that is polite, detail oriented, well-spoken, and that puts them at ease
You need to be willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle a high caseload
Trial preparation and trial support experience is required
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documents, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.
ABA approved paralegal certificate or other relevant certification Requirements Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, CompuLaw, Billing Functions, Briefing, Calendar Management, Claim Administration, Communication, Employment Law, Employment Law
