    Cross-Shift Coordinator

     

    The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cross-Shift Coordinator for our Emergency Shelter. TheCross-Shift Coordinatorplays a vital role in maintaining operational stability and consistent leadership across all shifts—day, evening, and overnight. This dynamic position ensures that staff are supported, policies are upheld, and communication flows seamlessly between teams. The Coordinator steps in when senior leadership is unavailable, offering direct supervision and reinforcing a culture of professionalism, safety, and accountability.

     

    This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about supporting both staff and shelter guests. By assisting with training, monitoring documentation, and promoting team cohesion, the Cross-Shift Coordinator helps reduce overtime, strengthen inter-shift communication, and uphold the Mission’s standards of care.Qualifications

     

    + High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in social services, human services, or related field preferred

    + Supervisory experience or direct experience in shelter, social services, or a related field

    + Strong computer skills; proficiency in documentation and scheduling systems

    + Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities

    + Highly flexible, dependable, and able to work varied hours including overnights, weekends, and holidays

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide on-site leadership coverage across all shifts as needed

    + Support staff with guidance, conflict resolution, and policy enforcement

    + Monitor documentation for accuracy and completeness

    + Assist with onboarding and training of new team members

    + Promote communication and collaboration between shifts

    + Ensure shelter operations run smoothly and safely

    + Fill in supervisory gaps during holidays, weekends, and leadership absences

     

    Salary Range:$50,000 - $55,000Schedule: Flexible Days from 7p-3a
