Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced welder and fabricator skilled in MIG and stick welding to join our team. Your primary role will be to repair and maintain trash containers, roll-off boxes, and vehicle components. The work schedule is from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm with a half-hour lunch break.

Responsibilities

+ Inspect and perform welding repairs on structural damage to trash containers, compactors, roll-off boxes, trucks, and other equipment.

+ Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and Arc welding equipment.

+ Fabricate steel components for company equipment and trucks.

+ Cut, grind, and prep metal surfaces for welding using torches, plasma cutters, and grinders.

+ Work closely with management and shop personnel to prioritize and complete daily tasks.

+ Ensure proper completion of work orders associated with repairs, utilizing the fleet maintenance software program to document time and parts usage.

+ Maintain a clean, safe work area, always wearing proper PPE according to company policy and OSHA Standards.

+ Assist in routine maintenance and special welding projects.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of complex welding experience including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding and fabrication.

+ Strong understanding of welding techniques.

+ Knowledge of hand and power tools to perform essential functions of the job.

+ Strong attention to detail.

+ Ability to effectively communicate.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

+ Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and safe welding practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in mechanical repair and fabrication.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
