JobSummary: The Human Resources Receptionist is responsible for handling all clerical and administrative responsibilities for the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center; including supporting both the recruiting and employee activities duties as assigned. This position is responsible for greeting visitors, handling the phone switchboard for the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center, providing excellent customer service to all visitors and employees, and providing administrative support to the Human Resources department.
An employee in this position can expect a starting hourly rate of $ 17.00, depending on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.

WhatYouDo:
• Open phone lines in the morning at 8:00am
• Greet employees and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, provide an identification badge, and have them sign in and out.
• Answer incoming calls to the Reno Distribution Center facility, gauges caller’s needs and routes calls to the appropriate parties.
• Ensure accurate, up-to-date information for the Distribution Center phone directories and contact lists.
• Report call outs/interview cancelations to Operation’s management team and HR Team
• Support all HR related engagement activities.
• Update in-house television monitors and employee informational boards with all company related news.
• Sign for all incoming packages coming into the reception area.
• Distribute all incoming mail.
• Support the HR team with various projects as needed, inclusive of peak season hiring, employee activities, etc.
• Provide general information to our booksellers
• Provide support in our New Hire Orientation
Knowledge&Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of office experience, or relevant experience that involves strong administrative/organizational skills and the ability to organize, plan and prioritize workload.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced work environment a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality/discretion in all workplace and HR matters.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Able to work Monday to Friday (8:00 am-5:00 pm) with additional hours as needed.
• Bilingual a plus but not required.
