Kentro is hiring a Technical Officer supporting the USAID. The role serves as a subject matter expert in USAID Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance programming. Serves as a technical advisor to USAID staff on broad sectoral, and thematic areas contributing to the planning, coordination, and oversight of development program close outs. The incumbent works collaboratively across USAID offices and prepares and contributes to reports, presentations, and written analyses on issues that may impact substantive, mission-oriented program closeout.
USAID, which fostered global development by reducing conflict, preventing disease, and promoting democratic governance and resilience is now moving into strategic drawdown positioning. The Office of Resource Management provides strategic oversight in operations, budget planning, and administration. The Technical Officer for Policy provides strategic direction and oversight of the ADS and management operations platforms.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide technical input and sectoral expertise to the execution of USAID program closeout, ensuring alignment with Agency priorities and resource availability.
+ Participate in the preparation of program closeout associated documents - to include implementation plans, concept notes, activity monitoring, and procurement drawdown.
+ Develop technical briefs, guidance documents, and presentations that synthesize complex information for a variety of audiences.
+ Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including interagency working groups, implementing partners, and donor coordination platforms - as appropriate to accomplish the Agency’s current operational objective.
+ Assist in drafting performance reports, budget justifications, and congressional notifications, as required.
+ Align Agency policy and management platforms with Federal law, Presidential initiative or directive, regulations, and international agreements governing the use of foreign assistance.
Note: No regular travel expected; May require work outside business hours; telework subject to approval; on-site presence expected.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree (4+ years of relevant experience may be substituted in addition to 5 years).
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience in Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance sector
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and research tools.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Clearance:
+ U.S. Citizenship
+ Must be willing and able to get Public Trust Clearance or Higher level.
