    This position serves as a Mechanic Supervisor B for District 04 HQ Repair Shop and the Bienville Parish Repair Shop. The incumbent is required to have specialized knowledge of the use of Diagnostic Scanner's, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, LAGOV and Repair/Trouble-Shooting Manuals. The incumbent is required to operate, Telephones, computers, power tools, scanners, and two-way radios. Must be knowledgeable in the safe operation of passenger vehicles as well as other equipment operated by the Mechanic Supervisor B.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Four years of experience or training as a mechanic.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    * This position requires the incumbent to make minor repairs and perform necessary maintenance on equipment and vehicles used to perform this task. Typically supervises personnel in a large shop engaged in the repair of a wide range of vehicles, heavy mobile maintenance and/or construction equipment.

    * Oversees the direction of all operations and maintenance of the Bossier and Bienville Repair Shops, which includes but is not limited to the repair of a wide range of vehicles, heavy mobile maintenance and/or construction equipment.

    * Researches data to ensure that all maintenance and repairs are accomplished using the most modern, efficient and economical means available.

    * Ensures the work is performed in accordance with established priorities as set by the ADA of Operations. Create and complete work orders that track production and costs of shop materials and labor.

    * Supervises repair shop personnel under his direct line of Supervision, which includes mechanics from District 04 HQ Repair Shop and the Arcadia Repair Shop.

    * Assigns and monitors work to each respective mechanic and other shop personnel.

    * May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support.

    Compensation:The starting salary for a Mechanic Supervisor B will be $27.60/hourly.
