Job Summary

Career Discovery and Success is seeking a skilled and detail-orientedAPI Integration Developer to support development of robustAPI connections between Salesforce, and Handshake. This role is critical to ensuring seamless data flow and operational efficiency across our platforms, supporting our Career Services Technology & Insight initiatives and the University strategic plan. This is a temporary position that is open until the conclusion of the Phase 1API development.

+ Candidates who are a good fit for this position will provide excellent customer service and consultative and technical support services to the Career Service Network and employer partners to ensure timely problem resolution, system/data access, and optimal system performance.

+ Provide support for Handshake software to include, but not limited to, employer and job approvals, event support, troubleshooting technology problems, and recommending hardware and software appropriate for its intended use.

+ Provide consulting on routine technology solutions.

Temporary Employment Services (TES ), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university.TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

+ Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time

+ Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads

+ Assistance with special projects

Essential Functions

+ Design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient RESTful APIs to integrate Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, and Handshake platforms.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

+ Maintain and enhance existingAPI connections, ensuring high availability and performance.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, including data mismatches, authentication errors, and performance bottlenecks.

+ DocumentAPI architecture, endpoints, and workflows for internal use and future scalability.

+ Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards across all integrations.

+ Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in discipline as appropriate to position and at least one year experience.

Desired Qualifications

+ Proven experience developing APIs using technologies such as .NET , Node.js, or Python.

+ Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps,API Management).

+ Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs (REST ,SOAP , BulkAPI ) and integration patterns.

+ Familiarity with Handshake’sEDU API and data structures.

+ Proficiency in working withJSON ,XML , OAuth 2.0, and webhooks.

$15.00-$23.00/hour

Work Hours

Typical work hours between 7:45 am and 4:45 pm. During Career Fair Season some nights and weekends may be required.
