Senior Cloud Performance Engineer

+ Help analyze and optimize performance profiles of enterprise software powering Pega Cloud services.

+ Collaborate on defining and implementing performance best practices for cloud-native environments.

+ Work hands-on with leading cloud performance technologies to solve complex, real-world problems.

What You'll Do at Pega:

+ Analyze performance profiles of enterprise software on Pega Cloud and contribute to performance best practices and governance.

+ Develop and maintain tools for infrastructure performance monitoring, resiliency testing, and auto-scaling.

+ Implement and optimize monitoring solutions using Grafana and Prometheus.

+ Deploy and manage cloud-native applications using Docker and Helm.

+ Collaborate with capacity planning and operations teams to translate business needs into technical requirements.

+ Evaluate new technologies for applicability to current and future projects.

+ Provide performance oversight and guidance to teams delivering new features.

+ Communicate effectively with developers and product owners about performance analysis and alternative approaches.

+ Work within an Agile framework.

Who You Are:

You are a senior performance engineer with experience building scalable, cloud-native systems and a passion for applying technology to solve business challenges.

+ 3-5+ years of software development experience, preferably in a product development company.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.

+ Proven ability to implement solutions that meet engineering excellence standards with minimal oversight.

+ Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM.

+ Hands-on experience with auto-scaling solutions in cloud environments.

+ Experience deploying and managing software in containers using Docker and Helm.

+ Experience designing software to scale using containers and microservices.

+ Experience with performance analysis and monitoring in clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

+ Strong experience with Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting.

+ Experience with databases, including both relational (PostgreSQL or Oracle) and NoSQL (Cassandra).

+ Experience with clustered deployments and distributed systems.

+ Experience with SCM tools including git and GitHub.

+ Programming expertise in Java (required); knowledge of Golang, Pega Platform, or AWS Cloud is a plus.

+ Experience with J2EE, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fast learner.

+ Designed and implemented highly available, scalable cloud-native systems.

+ Demonstrated strong knowledge in performance analysis, infrastructure monitoring, auto-scaling, and capacity planning.

+ Implemented monitoring and alerting solutions using Grafana and Prometheus.

+ Deployed and managed applications using Docker and Helm.

+ Worked with cross-functional teams to align business goals with technical implementation.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field.
