Job Description

A client in Charlotte, NC is looking for a Data Modeler to join their team. This person will be coming on to enhance the data model that that the client already has created. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling principles, database design, and data management best practices. Responsibilities are shown below:

• Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and data engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Design and develop data models using industry-standard modeling techniques and tools.

• Perform data profiling and analysis to understand data quality, structure, and relationships.

• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and usability.

• Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and guidelines.

• Participate in data governance initiatives to ensure compliance with data management policies and standards.

• Work closely with database administrators and developers to implement data models in relational and non-relational database systems.

• Conduct data model reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.

• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data modeling and data management

Skills and Requirements

• Must be comfortable going onsite 5 days per week

• 5-8 years of experience in data modeling and database design

• Experience working in the Retail domain

• 5+ years of experience working with ERwin and ER/Studio for data modeling tools

• Strong knowledge of SQL on Azure SQL server and Databricks

• Experience with data warehouse design and dimensional modeling
