    Job Description

    A large financial organization is seeking a Remote SRE for a contract opportunity through the end of the year (with a likelihood for extensions into next year). This position can sit remotely, but must be able to work EST.

     

    This individual will be brought on to alleviate the development team by providing L3 application support and ensuring that the payment systems can keep running smoothly and reliably to help ensure that customers have minimal interruptions when making transactions.

    Key responsibilities:

    1. Automation – using terraform for ci/cd and release validation

    2. Monitoring system health and performance within Splunk & Dynatrace

    3. Incident Management – doing RCA and retrospectives

    4. Performance & Reliability Engineering - latency optimization, load testing, capacity planning, chaos engineering, failure injection, etc.

    • Building out performance, monitoring, and logging for the applications

    5. Lead initiatives to improve CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment

    Skills and Requirements

    • 5+ years of SRE experience

    • Must come from a software development background - Java/Go/Python or Ruby

    • AWS (multi-region, scaling, DR)

    • Terraform or similar automation tooling (ci/cd, release validation)

    • Dynatrace (for monitoring) AND Splunk (for logging)

    • Distributed System Design • Experience working with RTP (real time payments) OR Building services/ scaling payment services

    • Familiarity with SLAs, SLIs, SLOs

    • Grafana

    • Snowflake

    • FedNow experience

    • Stablecoins (crypto) experience
