Our **Middletown, CT** office is looking for an ambitious **Scientist I** to join our growing environmental team.

As a Scientist I, you'll gain hands-on experience contributing to site development and remediation projects that improve the community's environmental health and resiliency. With an experienced team by your side, you’ll explore a wide range of impactful work, from assessing sites and investigating brownfields to designing cleanup plans and navigating regulations.

What you'll do:

+ Conduct field oversight and documentation for various environmental tasks, including drilling, groundwater sampling, site assessments, and remedial activities

+ Conduct field sampling of environmental media, including soil, water, air, and waste materials

+ Oversee drilling and remediation subcontractors on-site

+ Collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and laboratory analysts

+ Manage environmental data and laboratory results using Microsoft Excel

+ Review soil, water, and air data from commercial laboratories and compare results against regulatory criteria

+ Interpret field and laboratory quality control (QC) data, including blanks, control samples, instrument calibrations, and chromatograms, to ensure data quality objectives are met

+ Preliminary preparation of technical reports for investigation and assessment activities

What you bring:

+ 0–4 years of relevant work experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., data filtering/sorting, pivot tables, lookup functions, conditional formatting)

+ Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing

Salary Range:

55,000.00 - 60,000.00
