The Duties of the Family Medicine Physician are as follows:

Provide medical services at several Skilled Nursing Home sites; routinely conduct comprehensive regulatory visits, establish and guide the total program of care for each resident; evaluate the resident's condition and review and decide about the continued appropriateness of the resident's current medical regimen; periodically review resident's medications and monitor both for continued need based on validation diagnosis or problems and for possible adverse drug reactions. Duties will include properly defining and describing patient symptoms and problems, clarifying and verifying diagnosis, and helping to establish a realistic prognosis and care goals; determine appropriate services and programs for a patient, consistent with diagnosis ,conditions, prognosis, and patient and family goals and wishes, focus on helping patients attain their highest practicable level of functioning in the least restrictive environment; conduct or arrange for palliative care counseling and pain management interventions when the resident is determined to be terminally ill or has a life limiting condition that may benefit from these services, and participate in on-call coverage .

Requirements: M.D. or equivalent; completion of an Internal or Family Medicine Residency; Massachusetts Medical License, and DEA & MCSR Certification.
