Required Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable technical work experience, or
+ Associate's Degree and 8 years of applicable technical work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
+ Exhibit a thorough understanding of plant design, construction, operations, maintenance, and analysis in the utility industry, oil & gas industry, required.
+ Ability to write specifications and standards and coordinate engineering projects and assignments, required.
+ Knowledge in welding requirements to review and approve procedures and qualifications, required.
+ Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Projects), as well as the ability to learn other company software systems, required.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels, required.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and sub-projects concurrently, required.
+ Supervisory experience of professional and union employees, preferred.
+ Hands-on experience in operations and maintenance of rotating equipment, preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
+ Driver's License Required
+ Other: CWI Certified Welding Inspector Preferred
Physical Demands
+ Ability to respond to system emergencies
+ Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
+ Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
+ Ability to climb ladders and stairs
+ Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
+ Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
+ Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
+ Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Additional Physical Demands
+ The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Ability to make the required visits to power plants and commercial facilities.
+ Ability to work in a generating plant environment.
