The Graduate
Intern, Flight Safety Programs responsibilities include providing support to
the Flight Safety across multiple programs, including Accident/Incident
Investigation Team, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), Aviation
Safety Action Program (ASAP), Pilot Fatigue, and Safety Promotions. The data
collected through these programs supports Delta's Safety Management System
(SMS), which is a cornerstone of Delta's proactive accident and incident
prevention system to track, trend and resolve aviation hazards. This position
will include exposure safety reports, analyzing safety data trends, and
developing safety promotions and training modules for use in Flight Operations.
This position will have the opportunity to represent the Flight Safety team in
cross-divisional working groups. The Flight Safety team’s primary customer is
Flight Operations, so a knowledge of aviation terminology, airline management
processes, and aircraft systems will be beneficial.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Qualified candidate must be enrolled as a current/active student in an accredited graduate program at a college and/or university
+ Currently in possession of a valid passport and able to travel for company business up to 20%
+ This position requires student to work full time. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters
+ Candidate must be willing to commit to the duration of the internship which may last up to 12 months
+ Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office
+ Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce.

+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
+ Degree includes a specialization in Aviation
+ Flight experience
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Project, Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook
+ Highly motivated with the desire to learn and have a passion for safety
