Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Nottingham, Maryland. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to enhance financial operations while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to reconciling financial data and supporting month-end closing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate tracking and alignment with financial records.

• Reconcile petty cash accounts and maintain precise reporting.

• Handle prepaid expenses and ensure proper entries are recorded.

• Perform month-end accounts payable reconciliations, ensuring alignment with the general ledger.

• Process credit card reconciliations, including collecting and verifying receipts, and ensuring expenses are posted to the correct month.

• Assist in preparing accruals to support financial reporting accuracy.

• Conduct coding of invoices and account coding to ensure proper allocation of expenses.

• Facilitate check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.

• Utilize software tools such as Blackbaud, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Excel to streamline accounts payable processes.

• Support contract audits and ensure compliance with Form 1099 reporting requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related financial roles.

• Proficiency in handling accounts payable tasks, including coding invoices and account reconciliations.

• Experience with credit card reconciliation and receipt verification.

• Familiarity with financial software such as Blackbaud, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong understanding of Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check processing.

• Knowledge of purchase orders and expense tracking.

• Ability to conduct contract audits and manage Form 1099 compliance.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for reconciling month-end accounts and supporting financial accuracy.
