    Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm

     

    Type: 6 month contract-hire

    Specialty Chemical Company is seeking a Lab Tech to join their team in support of material development and testing. Our client is open to recent chemistry graduates looking to gain industry experience!

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare a high volume of catalytic materials for X-ray analysis (weighing, milling, pressing, fusing, and mounting) in accordance with standard procedures.

    + Prepare chemical solutions as needed.

    + Operate and monitor automated X-ray instruments, including both X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD); this includes proper sample loading and execution of instrument protocols.

    + Perform routine maintenance and monitoring checks on laboratory equipment.

    + Assist with data review and quality checks; report deviations from expected results.

    + Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.

    + Perform, with supervision, complex sample preparations as needed.

    + Provide support for special analytical projects outside the X-ray area as assigned.

    + Adhere to all established safety and environmental guidelines; actively participate in safety-related activities.

    Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry

    + Experience or familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Assurance (QA) is a plus.
