    Responsibilities

    **1.0 PURPOSE:** Support machine and facility maintenance for the Evansville Tool Shop.

    2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES:

    2.1 Use caution and support systems to assure a safety event free facility.

    2.2 Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.

    2.3 Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems nonconformity.

    2.4 Security diligence, including maintaining control of key cards, preventing unauthorized

     

    entry to Berry facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of

     

    Berry equipment and information.

     

    2.5 Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training.

    3.0 AUTHORITIES, including but not limited to:

    3.1 Pause activities and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially

     

    unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.

     

    3.2 Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality

     

    systems.

     

    3.3 Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

    3.4 Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify

     

    the implementation of solutions.

     

    4.0 PRIMARY DUTIES, including but not limited to:

    4.1 Repair and maintain machines on the shop floor.

    4.2 Perform needed maintenance on the facility.

    4.3 Report problems observed and recommend solutions.

    4.4 Support 6S program and maintenance.

    4.5 Support Lock Out / Tag Out documentation and equipment references.

    4.6 Interface with external suppliers as directed, including maintenance of records.

    4.7 Assist superiors in any day to day activity.

    4.8 Work overtime as needed.

    Qualifications

    5.0 QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED:

    5.1 High school education / GED equivalent

    5.2 Ability to climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance.

    5.3 Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a

     

    safety risk to others. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.

     

    5.4 Ability to push/pull loads of approximately 75 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day/shift.

    5.5 Able to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.

    6.0 PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

    6.1 Experience with using or maintaining manufacturing equipment.

    6.2 Experience with manufacturing facility maintenance.

    6.3 Strong problem solving skills
