Job Description
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Please Note this position supports our 2nd Shift. You will be paid a 10% Pay Premium while working the 2nd Shift from 2PM to 12 AM - 4/10 work week - Working Monday to Thursday every Friday off.

A Mechanical Technician will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. In this role you will assist the Sustainment Team to support company mission by producing defect free products that exceeds our customer's expectations in quality, delivery, and cost, leveraging lean six sigma practices. A mechanical technician will assemble, modify, rework and repair with minimal oversight. You will also perform work using assembly drawings, shop aids, schematics and detailed work instructions. Must be able to understand and work from engineering drawings, sketches, and be able to follow written work instructions. Must be able to set up and operate typical repair tools and equipment such as soldering, ovens, paint touch up, and component forming tools and equipment.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ High school/trade school or equivalent and 3 years work experience or equivalent experience in manufacturing
+ Current Secret Clearance
+ Skilled in installing and hand-soldering electronic components to printed circuit boards, as well as assembling and connecting wiring and using tools and soldering techniques
+ Must be able to bend, twist, and reach frequently, must be able to lift 40-55lbs
+ Ability to diagnose problems and see the solutions through to completion
+ Able to support different parts of the build
+ Must be detail, safety, and quality oriented
+ Computer skills & must be able to follow processes and written instructions
+ Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and drive toward departmental and company goals
+ Independently assemble electromechanical and/or electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering and/or documentation
+ Assemble and wire electromechanical enclosures using schematics and mechanical drawings
+ Collaborate with process engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ IPC Certification / IPC-A-610 Certificate - (if not certified, able and capable to be certified)
+ Lean Manufacturing Experience
+ Technical Degree such as a vocational school
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $56195 - $89912
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
