Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural** **hospital located** **in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Summary:
+ The Clinic Evaluation Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect physical, psychosocial and spiritual care for patients with cancer and other related disease processes
+ The oncology nurse will also act as the patient’s advocate and educator
+ Performs and documents initial and routine assessments and evaluations on oncology patients
+ A resource to patients and families and directs them to the appropriate support services
+ Performs the skills required to care for oncology patients receiving chemotherapy
+ Provides coordination of services across the continuum of care.
+ Attends/engages in continued education opportunities related to oncology care annually
Requirements:
+ IA RN or PN license (or compact state)
+ Minimum of 1 year nursing experience
+ Oncology Certification (OCN) is preferred but not mandatory
+ Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certification required prior to completion of orientation/chemo administration
Schedule:
+ 63 hrs a pay period
+ M-F
+ 7:30a-5p
+ The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
