    Job Summary

    The EMT provides high quality patient care and safe medical transport to sick and injured patients in all age groups, primarily in a non-emergent setting. Patient care will be consistent with approved treatment protocols. The EMT communicates and coordinates the patient’s care in an interdisciplinary model.

    Qualifications

    + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Successful completion of an approved EMT program, required.

    + Experience:

    + Minimum of one-year experience with a paid emergency services provider, preferred.

    + Two years licensed driving experience, required.

    + Licensure/Certification:

    + Current EMT certification for the state out of which they are operating. SC credentialing required for SC based locations and NC credentialing required for NC based locations.

    + BCLS, required.

    + ACLS, PALS and ITLS or PHTLS, preferred.

    + Additional Skills (required):

    + Current and valid driver’s license required and must meet the requirements of the medical center’s insurance carrier.

    + Must meet general hospital driving requirements.

    + Annual EVO education is required to drive during emergency situations.

    + Must be 19 years of age with zero points on driving record.
