    PROGRAM DIRECTOR

    Children's Mental Health

     

    Strive and Brief Treatment Services

     

    $80,000 annual salary

    Who You Are:

    + Master’s Degree in Social Work preferred, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Education with a Clinical Concentration Licensure accepted.

    + Candidates must be license-eligible for independent clinical licensure in Massachusetts (LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT).

    + Five years of experience working with youth with serious emotional and behavioral health challenges and their families.

    + At least 2 years supervisory experience.

    + Knowledge of Children’s Mental Health Services including experience providing Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) services or similar DMH Services.

    + Comfort discussing sensitive topics, including sexual health, in a professional, age-appropriate and medically accurate manner.

    + Experience facilitating youth-based groups.

    + Strong leadership, organizational, communication, writing and supervisory skills.

    + Bilingual/bicultural, experience working with youth with behavioral challenges, lived experience and knowledge of EBP models preferred.

    + Valid MA driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

    What You Will Do:

    The Group Leader and Program Director plays a dual leadership role, combining direct service delivery with strategic program oversight. As Group Leader for the STRIVE Initiative, this position is responsible for implementing high-quality, evidence-based group programming for adolescents aged 10–15, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed care, and equity for historically marginalized youth.

     

    In their capacity as Program Director of the Brief Treatment program, the individual provides overall leadership and clinical oversight, including staff supervision, hiring, team building, and fostering the development of clinical skills across the team. This role also serves as the primary liaison with the Department of Mental Health, coordinates referrals, and acts as the first point of contact for families and youth. Additionally, the Program Director shares back-up and on-call clinical responsibilities with other Children’s Services managers.
