Position Overview:
Performs general diagnostic radiology examinations as well as functioning as Lead Technologist. Schedules area personnel, provides support and training assistance as well as functioning in all aspects of position. Maintenance of equipment and QA/QC program(s) for meeting regulatory, accreditation and re-accreditation. Serves as department liaison.
**Job Description** :
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
+ Establishes and maintains department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
+ Performs examinations within the Diagnostic Radiology area.
+ Performs radiographic examinations including general radiographic, surgical, portable, emergency, trauma and outpatient examinations.
+ Selects and operates equipment within guidelines of the Hospital and Department of Radiology. Assures maintenance of equipment.
+ Consistently demonstrates competence in radiographic equipment operation. Maintains ability to troubleshoot minor problems.
+ Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensures quality images.
+ Obtains patient history, answers patient questions and explains the procedure.
+ Provides radiation protection as prescribed by CADPH Radiation Section Title 17 public Health, for patients, employees, visitors and physicians.
+ Maintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff. Oversees and orders appropriate supplies. Conducts inventory when appropriate and keeps par levels as needed. Ensures radiographic equipment is kept in good order and repair; contacts appropriate service personnel when necessary.
+ Maintains effective ethical and interpersonal skills.
+ Assists physician during performance of examinations. Demonstrates ability to adapt to individual physician routines. Establishes exam protocols with physicians and updates/communicates with staff as needed.
+ Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature. Responsible for area scheduling. Acts as liaison for Radiography students.
+ Maintains effective communication with the department. Provides information and support to patients, physicians, visitors and other personnel within the department and hospital.
+ Prepares, updates, and maintains department records, files and reports. Participates in all areas of clerical responsibilities including operation of front reception area as well as film and file rooms.
+ Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops.
+ Assists with patient transport as necessary.
+ Accepts flexibility in duty assignment and schedules. Adheres to department and hospital policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrates willingness to function in all areas of department an cross trains in areas identified by supervisor.
EDUCATION
+ _Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._
+ Other: AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology
+ Associate's
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
+ ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists
+ CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist
+ RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 1 Year of hire
+ BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
+ Venipuncture certification if applicable.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
+ 1 year worked as a lead or supervisor and 3 years as a Radiologic Technologist
+ 12 months hospital setting

Pay Range is $61.78 to $79.13 / hour
_The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
