    **Job Title:** Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Drafter

    **Job Summary:** The CAD Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed drawings of engineering designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by engineering.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Deliver CAD production work according to established specifications and within timeframes.

    + Work directly with design engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images.

    + Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers.

    + Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.

    + Work from customer drawings, company drawings, government drawings or specifications.

    + Participate with the engineering team in design layout and concept.

    + Detail, work out dimensions, angles, and other technical details of engineered designs.

    + Prepare accurate technical drawings for use in manufacturing and installation. Typical bodies of work include cut sheets, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, foundation drawings, elevation drawings, etc.

    + Create technical documents for manufacturing and installation including bill of materials, installation steps, etc.

    + Assist engineering team with solving problems including design, assembly, and operation problems.

    + Works with outside vendors and internal accounting to ensure timely order of materials required for manufacturing.

    + Provides customer service to both customers and co-workers using technical expertise relating to manufacturing, installing, and operating equipment.

    + May perform field activities as required.

    + Participates in department meetings as requested.

    + Performs additional assignments as requested and maintains a teamwork attitude.

    Qualifications:

    + Minimum 2 years of drafting experience

    + Knowledge of sheet metal and structural metal

    + Ability to use computer design software

    + Have the ability to apply and understand principles of mechanical engineering

    + High school diploma or GED required
