The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. The system strives to become as good at preventing disease as it is at treating it. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

    Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is integral to the nursing leadership team. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a licensed registered nurse that has graduate preparation (master’s or doctorate) in nursing a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The CNS assesses the impact of the social and economic forces on care delivery. Collaborates, participates, makes decisions, and has input into and supports the goals of the nursing service and specialty area. The APRN-CNS practice spans three spheres of influence: the patient/family, the nurse/healthcare team, and The MetroHealth System.
