Salary: $2604 / Week
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
+ Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
General Comments
Essential Job Details:
1x At Large (floating) SPED teacher needed for Lane Education Service District, located in Eugene, OR. Position will be full time, covering licensed teacher absences throughout the district on a daily basis. Lane ESD operates classrooms in Eugene, Springfield, Creswell, and Cottage Grove, OR. Candidates will be expected to float to whichever location has an absence on that day.
Technical Skills Needed/Minimum Experience/Qualifications
Active OR teaching license with SPED Endorsement
Previous experience working with Life Skills students a plus
Ability to float to different school sites within Lane County
Collaborates well with other district staff

Schedule:
Monday - Friday. Start and end times will vary based on site that requires coverage. Earliest start time in the district is 7:30am, and latest end time in the district would be 4:30pm. Candidate should be available during these hours.

40 hours/week paid

Floating to Life Skills program with absence/coverage need
Working with K-12 students, potential to cover a transition classroom that services 18-21 year old students.
Ideal candidate is comfortable working with all ages.
Ability to float daily. Ideal candidate resides or finds housing in Eugene.
Reliable attendance. Candidates that are consistently calling in will most likely be asked not to return.
