    Job Description

    A large automotive company is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Design Manager with a mechanical focus to join their team in Palo Alto. In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to build. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction and project management. The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration between Engineering disciplines, Construction, R&D, operations to ensure our team’s goals are aligned with company priorities.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    - Organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages and deliverables to support all aspects of construction: including scope of work, kick-off, MDR, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, IFC

     

    - Define strategies for design and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages

     

    - Own the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to delivery to meet our aggressive goals

     

    - Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI’s

     

    - Coordinate project schedule with construction team based on Procurement and Construction requirements for the overall schedule success of the project

     

    - Fundamentally understand stakeholder’s requirements and translate them into project deliverables.

     

    - Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, programming, design, and engineering services during construction

     

    - Build and maintain strong relationships with the various cross-functional teams to ensure overall program alignment

     

    - Understand different project delivery methods including design bid build, integrated project development, and fast track projects

     

    - Implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules

     

    Pay Range for this position is: $55 - $65 per hour

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - Minimum 5 years of professional experience

     

    - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical or related field

     

    - Experience with delivery of IFB, IFP and IFC packages (construction and permit packages)

     

    - Experience with managing complex MEP projects - PE or EIT license

     

    - Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and ACC
