    Join our team as a Center Director,at our new location, the Margaret Selway Early Learning Center, serving children ages birth to five this is a full year position. This position activates EOCF's mission through coaching and supervising classroom staff to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate early childhood education experience for children and their families. A typical day in the life of this position oversees the day-to-day center operations, which will include staffing, licensing compliance activities, data entry, reporting and attendance monitoring; and working directly with families to coordinate services and care of their child(ren). This is a full-time 40 hour per week position with a fully qualified pay rate of $31.37 per hour. Trainee pay rate is $29.79 per hour.

     

    * Interviews to begin once a qualified pool is reached.

    Required Education

    Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

     

    Fully Qualified Education

     

    Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

    Required Experience

    Two years of consistent paid experience teaching groups of children birth to five years of age in an early childhood setting. Six months of consistent paid supervisor experience is required.

     

    * Bi-lingual highly desired.

     

    Knowledge of

     

    Technological proficiency

     

    Washington State Licensing requirements.

     

    Principles of child development and Early Childhood Curriculum planning.

     

    Principles of effective supervision.

     

    Current best practices in early childhood development and education.

     

    Ability to

     

    Oversee and effectively manage a team of ECE staff within multiple classrooms.

     

    Observe and assess children and set individualized goals.

     

    Prepare the classroom environment to meet the educational needs of each child.

     

    Track each child's progress and incorporate the information into the curriculum.

     

    Work cooperatively with staff members and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.

     

    Maintain confidentiality of records and information.

     

    Use the team approach to resolve problems or conflicts.

     

    Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills; receive information and feedback in an understanding manner; use good judgment.

     

    Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.

     

    Prepare and manage records, reports and other documents as required.
