    Job Purpose

     

    The Operational Support Associate - Pipeyard is an on-site position with responsibilities for ensuring efficient operational support and inventory management by serving as the primary liaison between internal teams and third-party yard resources. This role facilitates timely order releases, maintaining accurate inventory, system records, damage documentation, and claims processing

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    + Serve as primary point of contact for 3rd-party yard resources.

    + Ensure timely release of orders from 3rd-party yards to provide OTD to our customers.

    + Expedite pipe tally sheets and other information from 3rd-party yards.

    + Ship support and receive materials within 24 hours of receiving pipe tallies from 3rd party yards.

    + Perform inventory reconciliations for 3rd party yard inventory materials.

    + Review receiving documentation for damages, entering damage details into the MRC Global system, and initiating claims with Supply Chain Management and vendors.

    + Coordinate damage inspections, repair estimates, and scheduling with yard personnel and vendor Quality Control (QC) teams.

    + Oversee repair process, tracking progress, and updating inventory records.

    + Assist with service centers and corporate continuous improvement projects.

    + Assist and maintain system work instructions.

    + Maintain site inventory by assisting in inventory audits.

    + Maintain confidential information pertaining to operations and contract information.

    + Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.

    Education & Experience

    + Requires a high school diploma and/or 1 - 2 years of related experience, or may possess a degree in lieu of experience.

    + Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or pipeyard setting is preferred.

    Skills & Abilities

    + Possess computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency.

    + Self-motivated, strong reasoning and reading skills.

    + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multitask.

    + Ability to make good decisions and work independently or as part of a team.

    + Ability to establish rapport with 3rd party yard personnel, service center and corporate team members at every level using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, and other effective interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

    + Must possess a valid driver's license.

    Working Conditions

    + This role may have exposure to a warehouse/distribution center/pipeyard setting as well as an office/desk setting.

    + Work is performed at a desk or in front of a computer.

    + Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.

    + Warehouse/Distribution Center/Pipeyard

    + Physical activity/exertion is routine.

    + Able to lift 25-50 pounds overhead.

    + May be exposed to loud noises.

    + Able to stand for long periods of time.

    + Operate heavy machinery/tools (as required).

    + PPE required.

    + Able to work overtime and weekends.
