Hunt Forest Products is seeking a Resaw Operator for its sawmill manufacturing operations in Olla, Louisiana. The Resaw Operator plays a critical role in manufacturing hardwood lumber and ensuring product quality and safety.

Responsibilities

+ Operate the head saw to prepare logs for a variety of resawing tasks.

+ Determine the optimal position of logs on the carriage to maximize output and grade recovery.

+ Understand the operation of resaw equipment and related machinery.

+ Perform startups, shutdowns, inspections, and routine maintenance.

+ Respond to equipment malfunctions and troubleshooting as needed.

+ Ensure safe and efficient operation at all times.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED required.

+ Previous hardwood sawmill experience preferred.

+ Knowledge of NHLA lumber grades is a plus.

+ Must understand sawmill manufacturing operations and safety protocols.

+ Strong working knowledge of lumber grades and sorting

+ Ability to control and enter information into production equipment.

+ Must be able to work independently and follow multi-tasking procedures.

+ Basic math skills for measurements and calculations

+ Ability to monitor and maintain production standards.

+ Reliable attendance and excellent work ethic required.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
