Description
We are looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position within a government office, offering an excellent opportunity to lead and manage audits across a variety of programs and topics. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and a solid background in financial and investigative auditing. Onsite in Uptown Charlotte Area. Mecklenburg, NC.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute detailed investigations and performance audits under the guidance of the Audit Director.
• Manage audits on diverse topics, ensuring adherence to high standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with auditees, agency leadership, legislators, and stakeholders to gather insights into programs under audit.
• Research state and federal agencies, regulations, policies, and statutes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Develop comprehensive audit reports with actionable recommendations to improve processes and performance.
• Lead and mentor audit teams, fostering an environment focused on accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
• Ensure audits align with established policies, procedures, and performance audit methodologies.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
• Participate in discussions to ensure findings are communicated effectively to all relevant parties.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Advanced certifications such as CPA or CFE are highly preferred.
• Proven experience in conducting audits, including government or information systems audits.
• Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate financial data and detect errors or irregularities.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams or manage complex group projects.
• Familiarity with audit procedures for government agencies and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
