    Job Description

    In this role, you will lead a team in developing next-generation electronics capabilities. Position is expected to support multiple programs and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced electronics development environment. The cross-functional teams could include but are not limited to the following disciplines: Systems Engineering, Mechanical Packaging, Electrical Design, Harness Design, FPGA/Software, Parts & Reliability, Radiation, Production and Test, Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, Finance, Scheduling, Suppliers, and Customers.

     

    The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high impact discriminating technologies for our customers missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.

    What You ll Do:

    + Multi-task and oversee fast-paced electronic development programs and provide data-driven insights for decision-making.

    + Plan, organize, manage, and work with multiple cross-functional teams all program to meet technical requirements as well as cost and schedule commitments.

    + Hands-on involvement in expediting planned activities in design, development, production, and test.

    + Actively manage program schedule and cost performance through a regular cadence of weekly and monthly performance reviews.

    + Track program progress and performance using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and metrics.

    + Evaluate and manage program changes (ECPs/CCBs) using a close loop change management process.

    + Report accomplishments, issues, and concerns across the program.

    + Delegate tasks and decision-making to the appropriate levels of authority.

    + Create and enable new cost and schedule effective execution approaches for development that are focused on best value to our company, programs, and customers.

    + Understand long-term objectives for BAE Systems SMS and our customers and how to help shape development work to enable future opportunities.

    + Understand onboarding path for products and documentation produced on development programs and how to best benefit future programs.

    + Determine most efficient means of producing prototypes, brassboards, EDUs, and STE.

    + Ensure staffing levels are met by communicating with appropriate functional management organizations. Help to find synergistic work for critical staff when necessary.

    + Assess risk and make risk-based decisions throughout project lifecycle to ensure project objectives are met.

    + Develop electronics and harnesses to quality and reliability standards for NASA, NOAA, DoD, and classified customers.

    + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

    + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

    + Perform other duties as necessary.

    **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site three or more days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

    Working Conditions:

    + Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.

    + May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

    + May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience.

    + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

    + Working understanding of cost and schedule management with some practical experience with earned value tracking and forecasting.

    + Working knowledge of requirements that lead to flight space qualified electronic programs and radiation-hardened environments.

    + Demonstrated results leading development teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills and conflict management skills, solid communication skills, and an ability to lead group discussions.

    A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Background with aerospace electronics programs.

    + Electronic project execution leadership experience and/or Electrical background.

    + Experience specifying and ordering Electrical/Electronic Engineering (EEE) parts.

    + Knowledge of the lifecycle of development for electrical engineering projects from start to finish.

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
