Job Description:

+ The SR Structural Designer 2 position requires 20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience.

Job responsibilities:

+ Producing 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork, preparing layouts and conceptual designs.

+ Reviewing vendor shop fabrication drawings is a plus, preparing material take-offs and assist with cost estimates.

+ Coordinating work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors, and performing site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability.

Skillsets and expertise required:

+ Proficient using AutoCAD, extensive 3D modelling and drawing creation experience is strongly preferred.

+ Experience with Advance Steel is preferred, steel and concrete detailing background is strongly preferred.

+ Good Technical writing skills must be able to produce clear, concise drawing notes, able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.

+ Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors.

Education:

+ High School Diploma
