    Endoscopy Technician – Full-Time, Day ShiftLocation: Elmira, NYSchedule: Day Shift | Full-Time

    Are you detail-oriented, compassionate, and ready to play a vital role in patient care? Arnot Health is seeking a Full-Time Endoscopy Technician to join our Endoscopy Suite team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of an RN or physician, assisting in nursing care, preparing patients, and ensuring smooth operation of procedures and equipment.

    Main Function

    The Endoscopy Technician assists with nursing care and preparation of patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, following established standards and policies. This position reports directly to the Unit Director.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for endoscopy.

    + Support physicians with procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, biopsies, and bronchoscopy.

    + Handle and process instruments and specimens according to sterile technique and safety protocols.

    + Document vital signs, maintain records, schedule patients, and enter charges into the system.

    + Clean, maintain, and prepare equipment and supplies.

    + Communicate patient needs and status changes to the RN or physician promptly.

    + Promote infection prevention by following sterilization and disinfection procedures.

    + Provide post-procedure assistance to patients, ensuring safety and comfort.

    + Uphold patient rights, privacy, and dignity at all times.

    + Remain flexible with staffing needs and participate in cross-training as required.

    + Respond effectively in emergency situations.

    Qualifications

    + Education: High school diploma required. Medical Assistant, Sterile Processing Technician, or Surgical Technician certification preferred.

    + Experience: None required – training provided.

    + Certification: CPR required within 90 days of hire.

    + Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and positive interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to lift/move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

    + Comfort working in environments with potential exposure to blood/body fluids.
