The **Physical Security & Safety Program Manager** at Premera is part of the Real Estate & Facilities team within Employee Experience. This role involves providing administrative support for physical security and safety programs across all owned and leased locations (Mountlake Terrace, Spokane, Alaska). You will ensure the protection of facilities and physical assets from risks and hazards while continuously improving security and safety plans. Responsibilities include balancing priorities across multiple workstreams, leading physical security, safety, emergency management, and threat/workplace violence initiatives, ensuring compliance, delivering employee training, and supporting the development and maintenance of compliance frameworks (HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC 1, SOC 2). Additionally, this role will participate in campus construction and tenant improvement projects and ensure a safe and inviting campus for employees to do their best work.
This is an on-site position at our Mountlake Terrace campus location.
What you’ll do:
+ Update and maintain Premera's physical security systems, policies, procedures, and Security Operations Center (SOC) operations using compliance requirements and industry best practices.
+ Assist in budget planning for safety and security programs.
+ Oversee physical security and safety contracts for contractual compliance through SLAs, KPIs, and performance audits.
+ Support Real Estate & Facilities enterprise compliance (HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC, etc.) to ensure certification requirements are maintained.
+ Partner with management to ensure the facility is in compliance with DOSH, OSHA, WISHA, and other regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain Premera's workplace violence training program and conduct in-person employee training.
+ Serve as the incident manager for emergency management. Act as the initial escalation point for incident response.
+ Assist with reviewing physical security violations and safety incidents.
+ Collaborate with appropriate divisions across the organization, including Business Continuity, Risk, and other key stakeholders related to safety and security issues.
+ Support the annual review and update of the safety, security, and emergency management policies, procedures, and plans.
+ Coordinate safety training and awareness programs such as safety orientations, first aid and CPR classes, pallet truck certification, hazardous energy control, and fire extinguisher training.
+ Oversee the company's required Safety Committee, including conducting monthly meetings.
+ Review safety and environmental infractions and recommend appropriate corrective action.
+ This position requires on-site presence.
What you’ll bring (required):
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
+ 5 years of experience in security, investigations, security operations management, security programs, or related field to include 3 years of experience working with physical security technologies and vendors.
+ Three (3) years’ experience with safety training program development.
+ Current First Aid, CPR, AED or obtain certification(s) within the first 6-months of employment.
+ 30-hour OSHA certificate or obtain certification(s) within the first 6-months of employment.
+ Current, valid driver's license.
Some additionally preferred skills/experiences include:
+ Experience in Lenel access control and Milestone XProtect.
+ Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
+ Experience overseeing contracts and physical security sub-contractors that provide guard services and integration of security technologies.
+ Experience in providing in-person training.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Plus Salary Range:
$81,900.00 - $139,200.00
_*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska_ _._
