    The Vice President of Pricing position at Akima LLC is a vital role that makes a major impact to the rapid growth of this exciting, entrepreneurial Federal Government contractor.

     

    This position will report directly to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and will interface with all key executives of the company. The Vice President of Pricing will have responsibility for managing the Akima Pricing Team and leading and developing Proposal Team cost strategy. This high-profile position will interact with numerous departments and assume full responsibility for preparing competitive and fully compliant cost and price proposals.

     

    The successful candidate must maintain and improve the cost proposal processes, develop, and administer quality control procedures, and conduct cost proposal peer reviews. In addition, this leader must have the ability to effectively teach and mentor personnel on best practices.

     

    This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Herndon, VA.

    Responsibilities

    + Manages and leads the Pricing team

    + Provides advice and recommendations to Executive Management.

    + Collaborates with Business Development, Capture, Procurement, Operations, Finance and Proposal Teams to develop strategic pricing models and support price-to-win strategies.

    + Develops and communicates the strategic, financial, and administrative implications of proposals.

    + Confirms adherence to all applicable standards including FAR, DFAR, DCAA, TINA, CAS.

    + Contributes to development and refinement of corporate estimating manuals, policies/procedures.

    + Leads teams to assess government RFP price evaluation models to determine the key cost and price levers for the evaluated bid price.

    + Identifies tools and innovations to improve the pricing process across the company.

    + Maintains detailed pricing documentation files to serve as reference for future inquiries or audits.

    + Establishes and oversees fundamental policies and procedures related to pricing, cost volume development, cost estimating system manual, training, compliance, and audits.

    Qualifications

    + 15+ years of related Government contracting experience (5+ years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity)

    + Strong communication skills and composure to interact with executive management

    + Ability to build and work in a fast paced, stressful team environment

    + Demonstrates strong knowledge of all types of contracts (T&M, CPAF, CPIF, CPFF, FFP, Commercial) with respect to cost/price analysis.

    + Proven expertise in developing and leading large, complex solutions-based bids in the Federal Government services market

    + Proven ability to lead highly effective pricing organizations that have successfully bid and won all types of contracts (FP, T&M, CR)

    + Strong financial acumen and proven ability to partner with business operations on bid versus execution strategies

    + Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted partner to executive leadership.

    + A strong knowledge of BOE development and understanding of importance to bid.

    + Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across functional areas to deliver competitive and compliant bids the result in winning profitable proposals

    + Understanding of bidding practices for Alaskan Native owned organizations

    + A strong knowledge of SCA & CBA equitable adjustments

    + Ability to build up fringe benefits from the bottoms up

    + Experience with proposal cost narrative writing, development and justifications

    + Demonstrated experience with leading the pricing strategy for joint ventures

    + Experience with or understanding of Federal Government related market intelligence tools (e.g., DACIS, GovWin, SAM)

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline

    + Master’s degree a plus
