SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting in the non-judgmental aspects of preparing and dispensing medications. Must become a Certified Pharmacy Technician within 1 year of hire date.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)

+ Access, input, and retrieve information through the pharmacy dispensing system to maintain accurate records and efficiently fill prescriptions through third-party insurances.

+ Promotes customer satisfaction through response to customer perceptions of services provided in a professional and constructive manner. Ensures departmental culture is responsive to patients and families.

+ Properly manage inventory and analyze drug supplies, replacing outdated, deteriorated medication and depleted inventories.

+ Develop and demonstrate commitment to advanced pharmacy services provided by technicians.

+ Communicate effectively with various healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

+ Ability to acquire skill in the use of pharmaceutical instruments and equipment.

+ Successful completion of a state approved pharmacy technician course or equivalent within 1 year of hire.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

+ Proficiency in basic reading, writing, and arithmetic.

+ Ability to work with sustained attention and care on routine repetitive tasks.

+ Ability to follow instructions with accuracy, precision, and dependability.

+ Ability to distinguish routine from judgmental functions.

+ Provide excellent customer service.
